In 2022, during a period of significant growth and transformation, the UCWDC^® leadership team undertook a strategic initiative to revisit and realign the organization around vision, mission, and values, called the Essential Story Process. The work was led by a third-party expert who guided the UCWDC leadership team – including Directors, Event Directors, Committee members and other stakeholders – through research, analysis, and workshops. The result of this collaboration is the UCWDC’s Essential Story.

While our Bylaws provide the legal framework for our organization’s operations and governance, our Essential Story provides the intention framework for our strategic direction, decision making, communications, and interpersonal values.
