A dispensation is an exemption from a rule or usual requirement. UCWDC^® competitors may ask for two types of dispensations (rule exemptions):  

Country Dance World Championship^® Eligibility Dispensation

If a competitor is not able to attend/compete at an event for which they registered due to extenuating circumstances, and the competitor would have needed that event to be eligible to compete at the Country Dance World Championship, they may request a dispensation.  

The following are acceptable reasons for Country Dance World Championship eligibility dispensations:  

• Medical
• Extenuating Circumstances (must explain reason)

To request a dispensation:

1. Complete the UCWDC Dispensation Request Form
   1. List all division(s) requested for dispensation
   2. Indicate if registered for Overall for each division(s) listed
2. Provide proof of registration from the event you were registered to attend
3. For medical dispensation: provide any letter(s) from medical professionals 
4. For Extenuating Circumstances: explain the reason and provide supporting documentation (if any)

Change in Competition Dance Level Dispensation

If a competitor feels that they are in the incorrect dance level and would like to change their level, they may request a dispensation and state why they feel they are in the wrong division. 

To request a dispensation:

1. Complete the UCWDC Dispensation Request Form
2. Provide copies of your scores and/or video from events (if any)
3. Explain the reason and provide additional supporting documentation (if any)
