Welcome to another year of competition!

For qualification criteria for each division please refer to the official UCWDC rules.

About the Step Sheets:

• The step descriptions are downloadable in Acrobat (pdf) format.
• For clarification, the direction of a step, weight change or the direction a dancer faces may be defined by points of the clock.
• Forward shall be denoted as 12:00; Right shall be denoted as 3:00; Back shall be denoted as 6:00; and Left shall be denoted as 9:00.
• Diagonal directions of travel shall be denoted around the clock as 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, and 10:30, respectively.
• The amount of rotation for pivots and turns is determined from the amount of change in clock direction and refers to the rotation of the dancer’s footwork, but does not necessarily indicate the amount of body rotation, or the body’s “facing” contra or open alignment while stepping.
• Used in conjunction with the step sheets, the videos are designed to aid in the learning of the vanilla patterns for the dances. If there is a discrepancy between the dance script and the video, please contact Brigitte Zerah.
• Several of the video files are large and may take a minute or two to load, please be patient.

Date of Use is posted next to the new dances.

Usage dates for new dances are listed in the table below. For all dances and Showcase songs, there is a 15-day “window” before or after the date where Event Directors may choose to use either the “old” or “new (next)” released dance or song. Please contact the Event Director for specific titles to be used at their event.

A: On July 19, 2009, the UCWDC® log-in process for Associate Members will change. Because of errors created by the use of duplicate usernames (typically caused by shared eMail addresses), our upgraded system will now require each Associate Member to create a new, unique username and password. Beginning July 19, 2009, your current username and password will no longer work. You should have received an eMail on July 13 from the UCWDC that included a temporary username and password for you to use to access your personal profile where you may create a new, unique username and password. To obtain a TEMPORARY Username and Password, click here.

Q: Why is the Associate Membership page changing?

A: The upgraded Associate Membership Website will allow you to renew your annual Associate Membership, view your Points Championship totals, verify your Worlds eligibility and track your progress toward graduation to the next competitive level. You may now also indicate your willingness to volunteer to help the UCWDC provide more and better service to dance enthusiasts worldwide.

Q: Once I receive my TEMPORARY Username and Password, how do I update them?

A: Here are the steps you need to take:

1. Go to http://www.ucwdc.org/wordpress
2. Enter your TEMPORARY Username and Password in the appropriate boxes and then click the Login button.
3. Click on Change Password/Edit Profile
4. Type in your preferred Username, any combination of letters and numbers that is unique to you ( 4-32 letters, digits or _ )
5. Scroll down 11 lines and type in your preferred Password, any combination of letters and numbers that is unique to you ( 4-32 letters, digits or _ )
6. Record your new Username and Password somewhere safe.
7. Review all remaining personal contact information in your profile. Make whatever corrections are necessary and update all of the required fields.  Please make sure that your record includes
   1. Your correct date of birth as some divisions are defined by age ranges
   2. Your phone number(s) and your personal eMail address
   3. Your parcel mailing (street) address
8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Profile button.

That’s it, you’re done! Good job!

The confidentiality of your personal data has always been a very high priority. As in the past, only you and the UCWDC Event Administrators can view your data.

NO RESULTS FOUND

We receive many eMail requests to recommend teachers. If you wish to be listed here as a UCWDC Professional Dance Instructor, and your Associate Membeship dues are current, you may purchase a full, one year listing here for $20.00 which includes a link directly to the eMail address in your profile. Simply select the Web Site Listing product. Click the Order button, then complete the transaction.

If your name is Red, your membership has expired and needs to be renewed. If your name appears in Black and White, your membership is current through the date displayed.

To begin a renewal, or to simply update your encrypted, private, Personal Profile, click the word RENEW at the left end of the bottom row that has your name in it and follow the screen directions.

If your name or number did not appear, please click JOIN.

You need your Username and Password to update your Personal Profile or begin a renewal. If you have forgotten either, please do not create a new record! Instead, send your current eMail address, full name, street address, date of birth, phone number and member number (if you know it) to: OfficeUCWDC@ucwdc.org We will send your Username and Password back to you as soon as possible.
